Shairon is responsible for developing and conducting training programs and workshops on female genital mutilation (FGM) for a range of professionals throughout NSW. The aim of the training is to provide clinical and non-clinical staff with the skills and knowledge to work appropriately with women, girls and families affected by FGM and to assist workers to identify the individual health needs of affected women and understand cultural diversity within and between communities.
