Building better mental health promotion in CALD communities

Major gaps remain in our understanding of cultural influences and how they affect mental health and wellbeing. This forum will provide practitioners with a better understanding of people from CALD communities and their conceptions of mental health and wellbeing by exploring different notions regarding mental health and wellbeing.

Transcultural Mental Health Responses to Natural Disasters

When natural disasters occur, communities, countries, and whole regions are affected and mental health services are stretched beyond their capacity. Culture influences the survivors’ emotional response to these events. This forum will look at some of the challenges involved in adapting orthodox interventions for cultures and language communities who were not considered in the original clinical trials.
