Transcultural Mental Health Centre

The Transcultural Mental Health Centre (TMHC) is a statewide service that promotes access to mental health services for people of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

TMHC is a leader in clinical consultation and assessment, transcultural mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention, publication and resource development and education and training.

The Centre recognises the significance of cultural and linguistic difference in mental health issues and uses a whole-of-lifespan approach, involving work with children, adolescents, families, adults and older people.

TMHC has extensive project management experience at Commonwealth and State levels. The Centre manages projects using collaborative partnerships with consumers, carers and a range of mental health and health services, General Practitioners, non-government organisations, universities, government agencies, welfare agencies, multicultural and ethno-specific services and culturally diverse communities across NSW.
