Group of diverse women laughing

There are over 2.8 million carers providing unpaid care across Australia. Carers make an invaluable contribution to the wellbeing of people with a mental illness in our society.

Our Carer Support Program provides support and information for carers from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities who are looking after someone experiencing a mental illness or childhood disorder.

Carer Support Groups

The Program runs language-specific carer support groups for people from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds who live with or care for a family member or friend experiencing a mental health issue. Our carer support groups are facilitated by trained bilingual and bicultural group leaders who offer information, support and educational and social activities to carers. The bilingual group leaders also link carers to support networks and services available in the community. The groups meet on a monthly basis in various suburbs across Sydney.
